    Yesil Uzumlu is located on a plain 500 metres above sea level. Surrounded by mountains and forests it is a rural, peaceful community with a tradition of hand making fine cloth on looms.

     About the Property

    Believed to have once been the home of the village Governor in centuries gone by, Sakin Bahce is a very special house. It was restored from dereliction in 2003 using the finest materials and local craftsmen to create a home that is spacious, comfortable and authentic.  It has been called ‘the best house in Uzumlu’.

    The house itself is one of the old village houses which are now protected within a conservation area. Only 5 minutes on foot to the village square, the house is situated within a walled garden hidden at the end of a small street. It has its own gated parking area and offers a great deal of privacy. This means the house is cooler in summer months and warmer in the winter. It was restored using the best available materials and local craftsman. The windows, doors, wooden floors and ceilings were constructed from cedar wood. The walls, where necessary, were rebuilt and reinforced to ensure compliance with modern safety and earthquake laws. The house has telephone and internet services. All windows in the main house have wooden shutters, decorative security grills and insect screens.

    All neighbours are local Uzumlu residents who live in the area all year round. The Property has two parcels of land, all combined within the stone walls and lockable iron gate.
